At the annual SEMA Show in November, Chevrolet showed off The Chevy Off-Road Concept, which takes high-performance desert running to the next level. This four-passenger off-road vehicle is based on a modified Silverado chassis and uses a customized pickup body. It shows how far Chevrolet off-road performance can go.
The Off-Road Concept gets its power from the 650-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 Chevrolet Performance LT4 supercharged crate engine. This is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to a two-speed transfer case.
37-inch off-road tires come mounted on 20-inch beadlock wheels. These give the Off-Road Concept the traction and height it needs to conquer the most difficult terrain. In case trouble does come, the concept is equipped with a pair of spare tires mounted in the bed.
Inside, the Off-Road Concept has a minimalist cabin with a functional design. Four Recaro® performance seats with four-point harnesses help everyone stay secure when the terrain is anything but. Two 7-inch LCD screens keep the driver updated with performance data like pitch and roll while driving off-road.
The concept’s exterior design is both dramatic and functional. Tubular doors show off its desert-running purpose, while the clamshell front end and sharply-angled back end maximize its ability to tackle steep inclines.
The Off-Road Concept isn’t for sale, but Chevy does have another great all-terrain vehicle coming soon to dealerships. Contact our team at Rentschler Chevrolet in Slatington, Pennsylvania, to learn more about the exciting new 2022 Silverado ZR2 and all of our 2022 Silverado 1500 inventory.
